Seeking yard cleanup person/service

Greeting davis square,

I'm seeking two services.

Yard Work:
* Trim Hedges
* Remove three to four foot+ ragweed and other weeds.
* Pull down overgrowth.

I've asked several services, but most garden people are crunchy-organic-make-it-pretty goodness ($$$$$). Not "just clean the overgrown crap up please" ($).

Inside the house:
* Previous resident has been a pet-astrophy there.
* The basement smells awful, and was used as a litterbox by the previous resident's cat.
I need a cleaning service that can deal with this sort of thing.
* Carpets need steam cleaning, etc...

(I've seen lots of advice in other posts fixing this yourself, but i'm not currently in a physical state to be able to do this myself - alas. I am seeking to hire someone)

This is time sensitive.

for the first job, I suggest looking into Task Rabbit. In case you aren't familiar, once you sign up, you post a request for services and people will respond with offers. We've used it successfully for help in getting items from Ikea (no car) and moving large furniture.

Husband of emcicle here.
If you sign up with Taskrabbit following this link, you get $10 off your first task, and I get $10 of my next task.

That said, I'd totally recommend them even with out the promise of 10 bucks for referral.

I added the 'housecleaning' tag. It may have old posts with information useful to you.

You can try Jennifer's Landscaping (617) 718 1796 - she'll do cleanup at a reasonable hourly rate.

With regards to the overgrown yard, I'm in a similar bind, and probably just going to take care of it myself (since it's a rental, I don't want to blow a ton of money on it). If you find someone good and cheap, please come back and post! Otherwise, if I have success, maybe I'll let you know if I feel up to helping you out.
