Soul.Train Fitness classes this month: free Tues, half-off Thurs, free first yoga classes...

I just took at "Crazy 8's" interval training class up at Soul.Train Fitness on Broadway in Teele Square, and it was awesome. They just got voted best gym in Somerville Scout (OK, that's probably a small sample, but still - I was really impressed).

It was also free. At the risk of being crowded out next week by everyone else, I figured I'd share the love and let people know they're having some specials for August:
Tuesday 6PM interval training: Free
Personal training: 10% off
Thursday night 7:15 yoga: 50% off  ($7 for drop-in classes instead of $14)
New clients, first 6:30 AM, Yoga, or Pilates class: Free

Is this a new gym? Glad to see a gym within walking distance from Davis offering pilates.
And I see other interesting classes, will definitely give it a try.

this does not look like a place that would welcome beginners, or the unfit. can you tell me more?

The yoga and Zumba classes with Erica are all-levels, and every time I've gone, there have been complete beginners who have been fine. I am still a complete beginner to yoga and Erica always mentions how you can modify the harder poses, but also gives options for more advanced students to do harder things. I've only gone to the yoga twice but it's super friendly (but very challenging)!

Aw man, I wish I'd seen this post a half hour earlier so I could have gone to half price yoga!

Appreciate the heads-up. I'd never heard of this gym. That Tabata interval class looks good, and what's to lose for trying it out for free? Also I appreciate they have a payment model like the Training Room of a 10-class package rather than a membership.

(Not to hijack the topic, but we sure have a lot of gyms around here now! I notice a CrossFit for Women gym has recently opened in the former Roach's Sporting Goods location in Porter Sq.)
