Pescatore and Soundbites are open
There is lots happening in Ball Sq. Pescatore, Italian Seafood Grill, on the corner of Rogers Ave and Boston Ave is finally open! The menu looks good if you love seafood--the only non seafood items are chicken fingers and salad, from what I can remember after taking a peek at the menu. I plan on trying it out tonight.
Soundbites is now in its new location next door, where El Guapo used to be. It opened for breakfast-lunch last Wednesday, and I spoke with Yassir the other day, he hopes to have it open for dinner this week.

The old landlord is still opening the breakfast place anyway. Total recipe for failure. Yassir says the other place will last 6 months, if that, and that "he might get a few customers when my line is extra long."
Drama: It's what's for breakfast!

Pescatore
I talked to the youngest daughter while picking up my Fried Clam Plate and encouraged them to do some simple things like putting the menu online and adding announcements to foodie boards (like chowhound) and local boards like this. Nice people but not very internet savvy.
Like "billharnois" my main interest in seeing them succeed is that I live on the same block. More easy eating options == good. On that note: Urban Gourmet construction seems to have stalled. The ladders and stuff inside haven't moved in weeks. That might be because Yassir is spending all his time on Sound Bites. Still, I can't imagine all the money they have lost leaving the place fallow for so long (8 months now?).
