Goodwill

So this evening walking by the goodwill store, there was at least 3 people picking through the donated items left outside to steal whatever they wanted. One guy even told his girlfriend/ wife to pull the car around because they had too much stuff to carry. Its not the first time that I have seen people taking things and I'm sure it happens every night.

This really annoys me because its not only stealing, but it is stealing from a charity. To me, it is analogous to palming money from the collection plate at Church. I know people aren't supposed to leave donated items outside, but that shouldn't give someone license to take things that don't belong to them.

So a couple of questions.

1) Is this illegal? It is outside and I guess it would be considered abandoned property. I don't know if what they are doing would be considered a crime.

2) Is there anything that can be done to stop this?

How Undergraduates Get A Bad Reputation

Well, it's a new school year, and that means it's time for extra vomit on the Sunday morning sidewalks, and penises drawn on windshields with marshmallow candies.

(More) Free boxes, packing material, and Books!

We have more empty moving boxes and packing material on the corner of Orchard and Milton.

Also on the corner, two boxes (and more to come) of books including (but not limited to) sci-fi, comp sci text books, and random fiction novels.

Free Stuff Curb Alert!

I have about six boxes of free stuff outside of 37 Hinckley Street off of Broadway near Trum Field. There's a free color TV, an IKEA chair base, baking pans, some really nice IKEA artwork (black and white photos in black frames), a bag of yarn, books and Rolling Thunder magazines, miscellaneous frames, a bunch of cassette tapes and VHS tapes, some 7" records, and assorted other goodies.

kennedy pool swim lessons

Anyone taken swim lessons at the Kennedy pool?  I was wondering how long the lessons are and if the classes are mixed (classes shared with kids?)  or if they are adult only?  Any input would be great. thanks.
