Fearless Dreadlocked Cat

Does anyone know anything about a collarless, lean, dark, long-haired (matted, dreadlocked), fearless (stalks my dog when we walk her) cat that lurks in the Hall St/Morrison Ave area? I saw it once about a month ago, then again last night. The worrywort in me is concerned that it is homeless and that I should do something...

While I'm here...

I've also discovered the joy of new plants via cuttings (a happy accident! geraniums ahoy!). That said, does anyone have cuttings that I may have? Or can anyone out there guide me to more and better information about propagation through cuttings? I'm just starting my search on information now...

Thanks a gajillion and have a beautiful day.

Trash pickup / 311 / holiday

Followup to the previous post about trash pickup being delayed due to today's holiday. In case you missed the comments on the previous post, several people who live on streets where trash is usually picked up on Mondays posted to say that their trash WAS picked up today, even though supposedly the pickups are delayed this week.

I sent an email about this to the 311 system (311Updates(at)ci.somerville.ma.us) because the 311 phone system isn't operational today. Just got a response saying that due to "vendor error" the trash was picked up in some places today, and it has been straightened out, and pickups will resume tomorrow on the delayed schedule. I.e., those of you who are on Monday streets can put your trash out tomorrow and it will be picked up. And pickups will indeed be delayed one day for the rest of us, as per the holiday schedule.

Tailor

I'm looking to get some women's jeans tailored for leg length and could use some recommendations of a good tailor in the Davis area. Car ot T-accessible. And cheap is always good if possible. :) Thanks!

Lost Immunology Binder on T, Sunday night

Last night I lost a translucent white flexible binder on the shuttle bus that was running between Park St and Kendall on the Red Line. I'm fairly certain it was left on the wheel/luggage hump at the front of the bus, sometime between 5:30-7pm, but neither the Red Line nor the four bus stations they subcontracted out to have the binder. This binder contains all of the information from my BUSM Medical Immunology class, for which the final exam is this Wednesday. In addition, there may be some coupons to REI and Hilton's Tent City floating about in it. Obviously, I care more about retrieving the former than the latter.

If you saw this binder, or have any ideas where I could continue searching for it, I would be extremely grateful. I am so unbelievably royally fucked without it. Thank you.

(P.S. Yes, I know I'm a complete idiot for leaving it on the T, but I was returning from backpacking and could barely see straight. Good thing I didn't bring the endocrinology notes to study on the mountain too, huh?)

Diesel Closed this week?

Anyone know what the renovations are that are closing Diesel this week?

A friend told me they are putting boths in the front section where tables and chairs are now.

Pescatore and Soundbites are open

There is lots happening in Ball Sq. Pescatore, Italian Seafood Grill, on the corner of Rogers Ave and Boston Ave is finally open! The menu looks good if you love seafood--the only non seafood items are chicken fingers and salad, from what I can remember after taking a peek at the menu. I plan on trying it out tonight.
Soundbites is now in its new location next door, where El Guapo used to be. It opened for breakfast-lunch last Wednesday, and I spoke with Yassir the other day, he hopes to have it open for dinner this week.

speaking of closed: China Fair - vacation or....?

Anyone know what is up with China Fair? I went by there today to buy a decent knife and found that they were closed w/o any note @ what was going on. It all looked pretty dusty (even more than it usually does).

If they are gone/gone fishin' anyone suggest a place to buy a decent kitchen knife (big/chopping/prop for horror film type).
