I'm looking to get some women's jeans tailored for leg length and could use some recommendations of a good tailor in the Davis area. Car ot T-accessible. And cheap is always good if possible. :) Thanks!
Jack's Tailoring on Mass Ave. in Porter Sq. is the best tailor I've used in Boston. Very friendly, a bit on the expensive side but worth it for his quality work.
The people who run the dry cleaning place on the opposite side of Mass Ave., near the corner of Walden Street, are somewhat less expensive but also less expert than Jack when it comes to fitting....so depending on how complicated the jean project is, you can choose accordingly!
I've also had good experiences with the seamstress at Hillside Cleaners on Brattle in Harvard Square. She really knows what she's doing. I think her name might also be Eleni, but I don't think she's the same Eleni as the one in Davis.
This may or may not be helpful: I've not had jeans tailored, but I have had great success with Elegant Tailors on Mass Ave, down in the vicinity of Cambridge Common. They have done a lovely job with dress pants and a bridesmaid dress. I don't really have any context in which to say if they were cheap or not, but if I recall the pants were $15 each, and they were just hemmed.
