Parking spots blocked off?

davis_squareI noticed this afternoon that a bunch of spaces in Davis Square have signs on them that say "No Parking" for Sunday, December 16th from 12-5. For example in the Rite Aid (formerly Brooks) parking lot. Can someone tell me what's going on? Thanks :)
