Where to recycle/donate an unused fire extinguisher?

I have an unused fire extinguisher that I am getting rid of (it's too large for me - I've bought a smaller one for my apartment).

Does anyone know where I could donate or recycle it? The Cambridge recycling drop-off center recommended a place in Medford, but I was wondering if there is anywhere more local.

Freecycle, Craigslist, if it's still usable? I dunno about any kind of local recycling center, I'm afraid.

Everything's fine--just a fuse blew downstairs and made a lot of rubber-scented smoke. Still, it highlighted our need of a fire extinguisher.
