I think the event tonight was a success and I certainly hope this becomes a regular monthly or bimonthly event. The Burren really came through for us and I hope people will write positive reviews about the place and frequent it often!

It was great to put faces with names and I got a chance to meet some people that I've always wanted to meet. I also talked to some awesome people that don't really post that much/lurkers but are really cool and interesting.

So thank you very much [livejournal.com profile] davis_square! I just realized I'm using lots of exclamation points!!

Edit: Oops, double post. Sorry. That is what I get for being one of the last ones to leave the bar and posting before reading the last few posts here.

exclamation point!

I would be really happy to see it be a monthly thing; I said I was coming, but after working T/W/T last week, then 4 days of Arisia, and working again tomorrow through Saturday, and the Arisia debrief on Sunday, I just looked at today and said, 'DEAR GOD I NEED TO SLEEP AND SEE NO ONE.'

But I finally met [livejournal.com profile] ron_newman at Arisia, so it's all good.

Hi! I didn't recognize the LJ name, but after looking at your profile I realize that we met at [livejournal.com profile] shadesong's Monday panel.

and during the meetup; I was the one who mentioned that having met you, I now had met all the davis square moderators, including the elusive Pru ;-)

Was Pru at the meetup?

tonight, I don't know. At Arisia, no. I know she came to Arisia last year but just for the Friday night BPAL thing; she's really the most non-fannish person I know, and I find her incredibly refreshing for that, actually! ;-)

Ahh, I misunderstood you above -- you meant the LJ meetup at Arisia,, not last night at the Burren. Anyway, great to meet you.

I would have posted a thank you last night, but I was legally too drunk to operate the internet. Looking forward to the next one!

Bah. I did not know you were back in the area. I would have tried to rope [livejournal.com profile] happyjack1888 in to attending and we could have had a steampunk/architecture geekathon. Or I would have at least found you and said "Hi".

Teh event was teh awesome. Thank you so much for organizing this. I hope that the Burren didn't regret giving us so much free food! Also, you brought chocolate. How can I hate a republican who gives me chocolate? Also, nobody gave me any roofies. How I love my consciousness, let me count the ways.

Here is a picture that entertains me:

Totally.
Also, not sure what you're looking for, but I think we're hiring (http://faiarchitects.com/). It's certainly not hyper-glamorous, and I'm not sure what you're looking for, but the atmosphere is good.

I did meet you, but not for long ... just long enough to boast about LSU kicking Ohio State's ass :)

It's nice to finally put a non-Ferrell face with the name!! I'm really going to have to make it out to 90's night sometime soon.

I just graduated. I have 0 experience working in an architectural office. I am only picky about location (T or bikeable) and general attitude towards interns.

Thank you! (I guess this means I better start with the resume printing.)

Well, I can spit on North Station from here, so the T is certainly close.

We're a VectorWorks house, which may or may not be a consideration if you're looking for drafting-type work.

Regardless, I know it doesn't say it on the website, but we've been sort of casually looking for people for a while now.

I wanted to go, but my friend's apartment got robbed, and she wanted to get out of the house. Don't worry, it was in Watertown, and for some reason they just stole some cheap jewlery and their checkbooks, but left laptops, cameras, ipods, passports, etc alone.

I'll definitely try to make the next one though. I love the Burren.

The only drafting program I know is AutoCAD, but I've used Revit, too. Otherwise, after a quick skim of the website, it definitely looks interesting!

On parker street. They tried to get into the upstairs neighbor's place as well, but they were home at the time and called the cops.

Um, darling, you did post a thank you last night. Despite me telling me you probably shouldn’t be posting. And I think the process involved you repeatedly reading, pondering, erasing, pondering, and retyping the same sentence. I love you, even when you’re typing under the influence. :-)

Heehee! Look on the bright side, beloved. At least I'm not an impulsive drunk poster (anymore). Now that I am a Mature Woman of Distinction, I ponder, I delete, ponder more, edit, consider whether my non-drunk self would put it in those words, decide not, rewrite, delete again, and usually end up not posting at all. But dude, the OP was [livejournal.com profile] surrealestate, and she's seen FAR worse antics from me than that. Haven't you, [livejournal.com profile] surrealestate? ;-)

Sorry I missed it (I'd have been getting there closer to 9 and was too tired to add another event to my night after all), but I hope this is just the first of many.
