help me get inked....

Hello....I am looking to get a tattoo in near future.  My tattoo knowledge consists of a drunken trip to Hapmton Beach, NH before tats were legal in Mass.   I already have a sketch of the tattoo I would like.  Does anyone have a good recomendation (good as in personal experience) for a (resonably priced) tattoo artist that will tattoo someone else's art on my body?  I am aware that most artists will want to charge by the hour for that type of thing...

I'm getting my first in 3 weeks and I've done a SHITTON of research being the cautious obsessive compulsive perfectionist i am. I decided on Redemption Tattoo in Porter Square and Erick Lynch as my tattoo artist although Mike Shea is just as good. They have an $80 minimum and have tattooed several of my friends and great for clean line work, even shading and great coloring if that's what you're after.

If you want to check in on the b0st0n community and check the LJ seek button and the memories, this question has been asked several times recently in that community (I'm assuming you aren't just limiting this to Davis_Square).

Fat Rams always get highly recommended...plus, Yelp is a pretty good source for reading reviews and recommendations.

nice, I like cautious obsessive compulsive perfectionist recomendations. Someone else recomended that place to me. Do you happen to know if they will tattoo from a pre-drawn scetch? I will google Redemtion Tattoo & see if they have a web site (I'm thinking they must). Thanks for the info. I'll let you know what I come up with.

i'm almost positive they will. i took him a picture from a book and basically said "i want exactly this" and he said it would be no problem.

Khoa is really great. You would need to take the artwork in to get it priced. He is working on a few of my friends sleeves (full arm) tattoos. They are beautiful!

I got my first and only tattoo at Stingray Creations in Allston (www.stingraybodyart.com). I was scared to death, but it was clean and friendly. They took my sketch and had no problems with it. From what I heard later about pricing, it was really reasonably priced. Good luck!

Redemption in Porter is awesome; Josh JUST did my ankle last Saturday and Mike did part (lettering on) of my arm in November.
