Upcoming ResiStat Meetings
Feb. 19th, 2008 11:54 amI thought I'd list some upcoming ResiStat meetings that may be coming to your neighborhood or demographic group. These are opportunities for Somerville Residents to bring questions and feedback directly to City staff. Even if there isn't one for you, maybe you have a friend or relative who might be interested. Also, there are a few more meetings I'm hoping to schedule for March which aren't on this list. The most current meeting list, along with a description of the ResiStat program, neighborhood maps, etc., is always listed here.

Date: 2008-02-19 06:58 pm (UTC)SomerStat vs. ResiStat
Date: 2008-02-19 07:18 pm (UTC)SomerStat is a data-driven initiative of Mayor Curtatone's for supervising the work of the City Staff, and for implementing new ideas across departments. SomerStat staff study financial, personnel, and performance data to understand what’s happening within departments. Then, in regular meetings with City department managers and other key decision-makers, we identify opportunities for improvement and track implementation of those plans. It's basically an internal auditing process.
ResiStat is a program that brings SomerStat into the community, to extend the SomerStat problem-solving discussion to Somerville residents. The goal of ResiStat is to hold regular meetings, most in neighborhood areas, and a few with specific demographic groups. At these meetings, residents give their feedback to City staff and Aldermen about their experience of living in Somerville and receiving City services. Suggestions and comments are recorded and brought back to the SomerStat meetings mentioned above, and status updates are given at subsequent meetings. Also, residents can request SomerStat data relevant to their neighborhood, which are brought to subsequent meetings. It's a way for residents to help us with that internal auditing process.
On another note, I think I heard somewhere that Conductive Lab Coat will be opening up for Embarrassing Alien Affliction at Indie Rock Night at PA's Lounge next week.
