Make a Pinhole Camera
Mar. 4th, 2008 11:14 amWhat are you doing on Worldwide Pinhole Camera Day?
No longer just a great pickup line, pinhole camera day has become an international phenomenon. April 27th is pinhole camera day, so we'll be making our pinhole cameras on March 27th--enough time to practice and work out the bugs. Then we can all go out and photograph the beauty of Davis Square.
Pinhole Camera Workshop:March 27th, 6:30-8:30pm $40 (all materials included).

Date: 2008-03-04 06:03 pm (UTC)Long official answer : we're going into our fourth year of holding events open to the public, and our seventh of being in that space. But until this year, my time has been spent curating art shows for the walls, and focusing on fine art. This year, I'm forming a partnership with another arts group to take over curating the walls, which frees up some more time to do workshops. And since I'm currently focused on the technical aspects of producing the puppet shows, many of the workshops are technology and art focused. Also, we slow down in the winter because our heat is electric, and people tend to hibernate anyway.
So, some of the classes are new, some have been ongoing, but our space is small and down an alley, so if you didn't happen to turn your head the right way when you walked past, you might not have noticed.
Anyway, thanks for the great feedback. There are a couple of other workshops being developed by other instructors that haven't posted yet, so check the website often, or sign up for the newsletter.

Date: 2008-03-04 06:14 pm (UTC)They had even offered to let us make their place into a haunted house last October, but we started too late to pull it together. Still, it was nice that they wanted to do something for the community.

Date: 2008-03-05 05:44 am (UTC)I'd do a thing about making frames on the cheap and printing from homemade stencils, rather than dealing with photo emulsion. I'll come by when I get back to town and see if you're interested.
