Hi all, does anyone have a recommendation for a general home repair contractor in the area? I think I have a ceiling board that needs looking at/repairs/fortification
Home Helpers Inc. 376 Mass. Ave. Arlington 781-646-4900 Manager - John Fantasia
These people have been great to work with, and John Fantasia is a really sweet guy. The other workers are very nice as well. I don't know anything about their prices though, since our landlady pays them.
I don't have anything to add, just that you DON'T want a general contractor. A general contractor works with individual contractors. I learned this recently, possibly here (if so, sorry for the re-post)
I'm having awesome visions of your ceiling with fortification. Crenellations and arrow slits all the way.
Anyway, 1) If you haven't joined Angie's List (http://www.angieslist.com), do so; it's more than worth it.
2) Sergio Deassis from Medford -- 1033 Fellsway, Medford, MA 02155, (617) 438-4009 -- did an emergency shower repair for us (we went to grout some tiles and discovered an entire wall kind of no longer existed, and he could do an estimate the day we called (which came out at the low end of what we'd expected to pay), started work the next morning, finished within 24 hours).
