Hi everyone! I am moving from my wonderful Davis Square apartment~!


The basics:

House is at the corner of Chester Street and Chester PLACE. This is not one of those apartments that's "in Davis" and is a 15 minute walk away. This house is literally about a ONE MINUTE walk to the Davis Square T stop, one block down from Redbones and the Burren (you can SEE THEM from the steps of the house). This is about as close as you can get to living in Davis Square without living above a storefront!

* Rent is set at $875; however, the landlord has indicated he's flexible on this, so you should negotiate it down (I did).

* The room is the biggest in a three bedroom, one bathroom apartment. The room has three windows, each facing a different direction, so the room gets a lot of natural light, as does the entire apartment. Check out the photo set above if you'd like to see what I mean! The whole apartment is the second and third floor of a triple decker, and the bedroom is on the third floor.

* Utilities are NOT included, can run as low as $40 in mild weather to $130 in really cold or hot weather. Utilities include: gas heat, electricity, cable television, wireless AND wired (ethernet) internet. Water bills are paid by the landlord. There's no landline phone.

* INCLUDED PRIVATE PARKING. Chester Pl is a PRIVATE road where all the tenants have their own assigned parking spot. You get one with the room. If anyone parks in your spot, you have them towed at THEIR expense! So you never need to find street parking or try to negotiate a narrow driveway with other people -- you have your own private spot that no one else can use, easy-in easy-out. If you commute outside of the city, this is a fantastic spot -- easy access to Mass Ave and the T.

* Other amenities in the house: Free laundry (washer and dryer) in the basement, dishwasher in the kitchen, sunroom/porch abutting the living room and kitchen.


What we're looking for in a new tenant -- graduate student or young professional -- the other two tenants are late 20s/early 30s. One is a working professional, the other is an MIT grad student. Everyone is very quiet, keeps to themselves, and likes the house CLEAN. Clutter and mess in your own room is fine, but the common areas absolutely need to stay neat and tidy.

Because of the proximity to Davis Square, this apartment is ideal for someone who has (or wants) an active social life outside the house. We think of this apartment as kind of a quiet home base and don't like to bring the activity there. Though it's a great space for house parties, someone who has guests over every night and throws parties every weekend would be a bad fit.

For allergy reasons, no pets and no smokers please.

I'll be MOVED OUT by April 20th, so you can move in as soon as April 21st if you like. Ideally we're looking for someone to be in by May 1st.
