davis-experts, where are all the places around davis square that have an air pump with which to fill me tires? i think the closest is the gas station on highland; is there any closer?

proximity to the square is preferred, bonus points for any facilities that are free.

in a perfect world, there would be a free air pump next to one of the big bike parking lots at the T station...

So you're talking about bike tires then? Any bike shop will let you use their pump and you can pick up a good floor pump for home use there. Gas station pumps will get the job done in a pinch, and 99.9% of the time you'll be just fine, but they tend to inflate too quickly and can burst your tube. If it has to be like right now then the only thing I can think of is the hess station out on Mass Ave. I k now they have air there for a quarter.

Ace Wheelworks over on Elm on the way to Porter. The Bicycle Exchange on Mass Ave. Paramout Bicycle repair on 860 broadway. Any of those will work, just off the top of my head.

Do you mean bicycle tires? Paramount Bicycle is in Powderhouse Circle. Ace WheelWorks is at Elm Street and Willow Ave, a couple blocks past Boloco. Or you could come by my place in the next 20 minutes and I'll lend you my air pump....

I fill my bicycle tires at the gas station on Mass. Ave. (I think the Hess mentioned above at 2055 Mass. Ave. about a block away from Russell) that has a little convenience store and is always well-lit. The air is free, so I don't have to remember to bring quarters and it has a digital read-out.

I second remembering the Hess to be free. The main problem was half the time the pump was broken.

Go to one of the two stores I mentioned and buy a hand pump. The kind that sits on the floor and has a built-in meter, not the little one that fits on a bicycle.
