Baby Shower in Davis Area

Hello all.

I'm looking for a place to throw a baby shower in June somewhere within walking distance to Davis Square. There would be about 20 people.

I've looked into renting a room at Spark Craft Studios but they are booked up.

I'm also going to look into:
1. Dilboy
2. Sacco's Bowl Haven

Anywhere else you can suggest? I'm totally open to any kind of venue (restaurant, function hall, bowling, etc).

I'll warn you in advance that Dilboy smells heavily of cigarette smoke, which might not be pleasant for a baby shower.

perhaps rent the space that Theater At First uses for their shows? Also, many restaurants will rent out sections if you ask.

If you're flexible about times (maybe on a Saturday afternoon after brunch and before dinner/evening show), Johnny D's might be a possibility.

Oh. Interesting idea! This would be in the middle of the day so I bet they might rent it out without worrying about lost revenue.

Maybe the Field House building at Powder House Park? I think the Mayor's Office handles booking of this facility.

Sabur really IS very cute, and the food and drinks are great! I always sit in the bar when I go there.

The upstairs at Christopher's is nice, and semi-private. A little bit of a walk from Davis, but I've done it many times.

Would it be weird to just have it in a park somewhere? It would save on rental costs, and if its a nice day you could turn it into a picnic thing as well.

Some good ideas have already been suggested. In addition, you could ask at your favorite restaurant in the Square. Also, I'd bet Bolocco would have space. I've seen groups at True Grounds. Diva? That restaurant behind the Rosebud?

I've seen showers at Orleans; I was there once when they were holding a baby shower with a brunch buffet in the area by the windows with the tall tables and the couches.

FYI.....if you're thinking of using a park for your event, you'll need to get a permit through City Hall.
