My neighbors are trying to find a home for a very nice stray cat. He is a little over a year old and very friendly. They have been taking care of him for several months but need to find him a full-time home. They have taken him to the vet to get all of his shots.

• Male, neutered

• Had all shots, leukemia negative

• Medium size, 1+ years old

• Affectionate with people

• Social with other cats

• Lost kitty who likes both indoors and out

If he’s what’s missing in your life, call 617-492-6557 or contact me with any questions.

Has anyone inquired yet? If not, my parents may be interested. I can tell them about the cat if there have not been any other takers.

Thanks,
Abby

What breed of cat is he? Do you have a photo?

Also, have these people put up posters and notified the local animal control people about this cat? There have definitely been a lot of posters put up around the area by people looking for missing cats and it would certainly be a shame to find out that this cat already had an owner that missed it dearly...

Has it been scanned for a microchip and reported to animal control/local shelters?

I may be interested in meeting the cat. However, I probably couldn't actually take the cat for another month as I'm in the process of moving to attend veterinary school.

My parents cannot take the cat. Sorry. But I am hoping the aspiring vet is the cat's savior. *wink*

hi, just wondering if this kitty has found a home yet? I actually had just agreed to foster another kitty temporarily, before I saw your post -- but if there's a chance that your neighbors could hold onto this kitty for a little longer, maybe we could talk. Do you by any chance know how he is with kids?

Hi ... we're beezy515's neighbors with the cat Foxy. Yes, he has been scanned and no microchip found. He's still here and working his way into our affections so he's not about to depart too soon. Will be here for another month for sure. Get in touch when you're ready. If anything changes on this end, we'll let you know.

Hi mamajoan . . . we're the neighbors of beezy515 who have Foxy. As you'll see from the above, he's still with us. We understand your concern about behavior with children but have no experience to report on. With adults, he's extremely affectionate . . . whether with new friends or old. Our own experience with cats and children is that all our own cats have been afraid of children. Just the sound of children's voices has sent them for cover. However, all our cats have been strays . . . and they may have strayed from home originally because of bad experiences.

It would probably take an actual meeting to determine compatibility. Let us know if and when you'd like to meet him.

I might be interested - we've been thinking about getting a cat for a while. All 3 of us (me & roommates) work, so my biggest question would be how well he handles being left alone all daytime. I'm not sure I'd be OK having a kitty go outside while I was away from home in the city, so at least at our house that wouldn't be an option for him to stay amused during the day.

Currently, he's out for most of the day and all of the night . . . but he's been wandering for some time. This may or may not be his normal bent. As an experiment, we kept him in last night and found it to be a difficult experience for all of us. Although he spent a little time in bed with us, for most of the night, he wandered from room to room, window to door, looking for escape. So I don't know about all-day apartment confinement. But he'll be with us for a while longer (maybe more) and we'll have a better line on behavior in a week or so.

It would be great to get a sense if he could be an indoor cat. I wouldn't want to have an outdoor cat-- dangerous!-- so please let me know if he ends up getting more accustomed to indoor life. You can reach me at inkscarred@livejournal.com

Cut guy! I'd love to meet him and I hope he can be swayed to be an indoor cat. Do you know which vet hospital he was brought to?
