The polling places are supposed to be influence-free zones. A voter wearing a campaign item can be seen as advocating for the candidate. You can bring items in with you that may help in your vote (say, a sticker sheet, pamphlets, etc), but you can't display them or leave them behind. This extends to a 150' radius around the location, but that number can be fudged as appropriate to the particulars of the locale.
