Costumer Needed

Our costumer has been transferred to California, so we are in search of someone who can serve in this capacity for Theatre@First's fall production, Murder in the Cathedral. Please spread the word.

"Murder" is set in the 12th century. We will be aiming for a vaugely medieval flavor, without trying for authenticity. (If you saw our production of Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead, you get the idea.) We have a general plan and several costume pieces already, but will need to construct costumes for the four priests and some other pieces. We can provide construction labor and someone to manage the costumes during performances, but need someone to direct the process. The production will open on November 5th.

It's unpaid--we're all volunteers.

The local SCA might be a good place to look for a volunteer. That would be the Barony of carolingia. Be sure to specified it's an unpaid volunteer position (there are pros in the group who do professional costuming). But 12th cen is right up their alley.

Be aware that large number of the local SCA crowd are heading off to the big 2-week national convention in August, so the Barony essentially shuts down this month. On one hand, a lot of people will be to busy to help; on the other, if there's someone who is still around who can help, they may have more time to do so because the SCA is in low gear at the moment.

Thanks. I have taken your advice. It would actually be fine if I could find someone to commit now to getting started after Labor Day, so Pennsic shouldn't be too much of an issue.
