Restaurants open on 1/1?

I'm spending NYE in Somerville, and we're hoping to do lunch in Davis tomorrow. I don't live in the area -- do most restaurants tend to stay open on New Years Day? We're not too picky about where we go.

I'd give them a call today. There is gargoyles which is more high end, but there is pub food as well (Burren and Joshua Tree both have pretty good stuff). There is always burritos too (little known fact, the burrito was actually invented in Davis Square, it is a myth that is of Mexican origin).

Mr. Crepe I think is closed (I thought I saw a sign it would be closed).

Thanks for reminding me about pub food. We called Joshua Tree and they'll be open; we'll probably wind up there as long as my friend who is staying in the city decides to trek out and meet us.

Joshua Tree's food is pretty bad. I'd go somewhere else if you can. My pick in Davis is Namaskar and I love the bar at Gargoyles.

I could have imagined it. I definitely saw a "we will be closed New Years day" sign someplace in Davis Square a couple of days ago. I thought it was there, but it could have been some place else and I'm just imagining things.
