Snow Emergencies and Trash Pickup

I find it a little odd that in the middle of a snow emergency, we have trash pickup happening. But for others in the future, take note! The trash pickup people are apparently are just as dedicated as the Mail Carriers!

(and I totally didn't put out the trash cans because hey, snow emergency! That and i thought they'd get blown all over anyway...)

Our trash cans and recycling bins did not get blown over at all. But, the plows knocked them all over (and covered up the sidewalk that we spent an hour shoveling). I just cleaned up their mess and am hoping that the trash trucks get here before the plows come by again.

I entirely thought that plow + garbage pickup truck = bad, past places I have lived in the NE seemed to agree, especially when street parking was a norm because both truck types are so wide it can cause incidents with traffic.

Lo and behold I heard the trucks this morning at the usual time. Didn't look fun, I'll say that much.

Sorry you had to fight that battle, the worst snow is the stuff that the plow pushes into your driveway in chunks on every pass. SO heavy!!

I called 311 last night to ask if there was garbage pick up today, and the woman who answered replied "Of course" in a tone that implied "Why the hell not?" so we put ours out, and now have the fun of digging out a spot to store them in...
