There's no such thing as a serge/sew combo machine. There are sewing machines, and sergers, and they are different animals. There are a few manufacturers who have made sewing machines that they have claimed to be serge/sew combo machines (Brother is a notable such company), but they don't actually serge, they are standard sewing machines that can produce a stitch which looks like, but is not, a serge stitch.
