Introducing ourselves, new owners of Teele Square Cafe

Hello!
Just wanted to introduce ourselves - we are the new owners of Teele Square Cafe (the former Soleil Cafe).  We've lived in the area for a long time; Shea went to Tufts and Jon's a local guy.  We sold 2nd Street Cafe (E. Cambridge) a year ago after our daughter was born, and then landed on Teele Square as our new venture.  We've created a great food menu with daily changing specials and will be open better/longer hours for the community.  Our goal is to serve homemade comfort food made from scratch in a fun, laid-back atmosphere, closer to home.

Jon bought 2nd St in Feb 02, so I think you were enjoying Sonya's food. We happened to meet there, as I worked on Charles St. and also frequented the shop in late 90s up through when he took over. It's a blessed spot - good food, just like we are going to bless the corner of Broadway and Curtis. ;-)

We dropped in on Saturday and were greeted with a very friendly staff. The food was great, the atmosphere was happy and the Pulp Fiction soundtrack playing in the background was perfect. Very excited to have you guys in the neighborhood!

Great idea. I think we have some soy actually, but I'll let Jon know and he'll get some. They may decide to keep in the fridge behind the counter (rather than in a container on the counter), so just ask next time. Thanks!

8 is do-able, but 7 is definitely stretching it. He fights 93/95 to get home for dinner most nights, and it would really be nice to have a new restaurant option.

Very cool! I am excited to try some soup...I always am looking for soup options close to home :)

One comment- On the website you should make your PDF menu open in a new window...most people tend to close PDFs and in this case it makes your website close which someone probably wont go to the trouble of re-opening.

BTW - the soups today were amazing; I dropped in for lunch with my little one. Manhattan Seafood Chowder and Chicken Lemon with Spinach and Rice.

Good question. M-S b-fast until 11:30 and Sunday all day Brunch menu, which will be the b-fast menu, plus brunch specials, and a limited sandwich menu.

Wow! I used to work on 3rd street, and 2nd street was the only place I'd ever go out for lunch. Very awesome that you're going to be over here now, and I hope that the location works out for you. This is exactly the kind of food we need up in teele square.
