The Davis Square Community

I think outdoor markets are a bit difficult to coordinate when there are multiple vendors bringing their own set-ups; people tend to need tents in case of rain or too much sun, and tents need heavy weights to remain in place. I've participated in the SOWA open market in the past and watched tents fly into the air and crash into cars, people, windows. Once I even saw a tent fly with cinderblock weights intact, dangling in the wind. As a vendor, I swore off outdoor markets as a result...I would hate to be responsible for someone getting hurt, and my skin can't survive a whole day in the sun. :(

Now, if one large tent could be rented to cover everyone's table, THAT would be awesome!
