Does anyone publish a police log for Somerville these days? WickedLocal used to do it, but that's been dead for a while now. I checked the PD's website but there's nothing there. The crime maps haven't even been updated since 2006.

Aha! It's there under "Crime Pages". I was googling for "police log" but you call it the "arrest log" online, so that's why I couldn't find it.

The Somerville Journal and the Somerville News both do. The Somerville Journal also has a section of crime reports.. i.e. burglaries, assaults, etc. Both papers cover crime stories regularly as well.

They changed the name of the feature to "Somerville Crimes Reported" and "Somerville Arrests Reported" and forgot to put a forward in from the old "Police and Fire Log" page.

Police logs on Wickedlocal sites are all a little weird. Last time I tried, I couldn't go back in time to see the archives, but if you already know the URL of a months-ago log ( not easily guessable ), they're still online.

Only the links are hard to find ( and Google catches them sporadically ). RSS logs are a good thing.

25/week.... It's over 1250/year... Take out the kids and the elderly... That's a big chunk of people...

Meh, I'm pretty sure between the repeats and the folks who are later released for not having done anything wrong it's not as bad as you think. But if you want to run back to "small-town America" in fear of the big bad urban criminal men and women of Somerville, that's no skin off my nose.

I don't think 1250/year is a large number at all, in a city with a population that hovers around 90,000 give or take. Also when you look at the arrest logs, many of those arrested don't live in Somerville at all.
