I had dreams of riding the 89 bus in peace and quiet. The range on this thing ended up not being much more than a couple feet and didn't work on all cell phones. In what might have been a turn of karmic retribution, the only phone this thing seemed to work quite reliably on was my own, which meant a lot of killing my own battery when using it. I found it tended to work on Verizon phones but not Sprint or AT&T. Probably a difference in signal. This thing is still in like new condition, and I still have the charger and the instructions (not much beyond 'turn the power button on').

Note that this is Wireless-B which I don't think anyone even manufactures anymore. It still works with Wireless-G routers. I don't have the driver CD for it but the driver is available online.

One of my many gripes with the bus was that it seemed to destroy all portable radio reception. At least AM when I was listening to EEI a lot in the morning. (Before D&C completely lost their shit)

Uh, I'm curious how you plan to connect these to a computer with speaker wire? Do you connect your computer via soundcard stereo to aux input on an amp or something?

Speakers to amp to computer. The iMac has a digital out, so it's just a matter of finding a decent amp. Since the only decent speakers I could find that were Apple approved and in my price range were $150, I'd rather take my chances with the amp.
