Over Christmas, I got very addicted to Westsoy Chocolate Peppermint Stick which was, surprisingly, better than most 'real milk' chocolate milks I'd ever found.

They were selling it at Shaw's in Porter, and they all disappeared the day after Christmas. I've looked at Market Basket, and saw nothing, but if anyone else has seen this anywhere else around the area, I would really like to lay in a supply of it.

Stores (online and otherwise) tend to have limited quantities of seasonal food items and whatever is left goes on sale (sometimes super-sale) right after Christmas. The good stuff disappears quickly.

One place to check might be Christmas Tree Shops. I got some Arrowhead Mills organic holiday cookie mix there for like $0.50 the other day.

yeah; i'd rather not pay shipping, liquid is heavy, but i'd consider it for this stuff...but i had no luck finding it online, either.

Whole Foods on River were out and said it's seasonal but they might be able to get it. Maybe another WF could help?

west soy is pretty tasty in general, so I would second the idea of buying the regular chocolate and experimenting with peppermint extract (or even better: peppermint schnapps :P)

But soy milk is perishable and requires refrigeration. Do Christmas Tree Shops sell any such products?

Most come in the shelf-stable cartons, which is why folks can stock up n the seasonals by the case if they like 'em. :)

it doesn't the vacuum sealed stuff, like westsoy, in those little boxes, instead of in the things that look like 'real' milk containers, does not need refrigeration. It's shelf stable.

the expiry date on the last thing of chocolate peppermint stick that I had was late August 2010.

Have you checked the Shaw's on McGrath? I was there last night and noticed a chocolate peppermint soy milk on the shelves in the Around the World section. Unfortunately I'm not familiar with soy milk so I can't tell you what brand it was.

Check Pemberton's - I recall they had it several years ago for a while after the holidays, and marked down... though after that experience they may not have reordered the next time.

Kind of a trek, but I know Shaws near the Prudential Center had some as of Tuesday evening. It was near the organic/whole foods frozen section.

I thought long and hard before unleashing this on the community of Westsoy Chocolate Peppermint Stick lovers, but I'd better pay it forward, since I wouldn't have given it a moment's notice if I hadn't read these rave reviews. I spotted it last night Feb 2 at midnight, aisle #2 of Porter Sq Shaws (in the "organic" section"). I had gotten one about a week before that and they seem to have replenished the stock once again. Don't let them fool you, they still have it!
