Hi all!  I'm assisting with a book and cd swap to be held in Davis Square during the month of March and was wondering if anyone had suggestions as to where we can donate any leftover used cds.  I know Good Will will take them, but I was wondering if there are any youth music programs or healthcare groups that may find them useful for their clients.  Thanks for any ideas you might have.

The public library will also take them and sell them to support the library.

from their website: "Got Books? is a for-profit professional fundraiser and used book seller whose
primary mission is to support the local community through books. We do this mostly by
hosting weekly Charity Book Sales at our warehouse in North Reading, MA. Our Book Sale
provides a meaningful and effective way for us to raise money for a variety of local
causes and fifty percent of all weekend book sale profits go directly to our fundraising
partners. Some donated books are given away free to local schools and libraries while some are
sold online. "

They can pick up from your house and provide boxes if you don't have enough.

You can schedule on their website; someone will write back in 1-2 days. Granted,
the turnaround time from pick-up request to actual pickup was about two weeks. I
offloaded a ton of books, CDs, videos after a multi-family yard sale; I left the boxes on
my porch the morning of scheduled pick-up.

Zumix is the only youth-music organization I know of in the Boston area, but they're great. Don't know if they are in need of CDs, but I'd definitely recommend giving them a call to check.
