I am very possibly starting online games company, and I am looking for a technical lead and for an art lead for an upcoming project.
Technical Lead: We need someone with a strong web scripting background, ideally someone familiar with the Facebook development platform. At a minimum, someone well versed in PHP and MySQL. They can pick up the basics of the Facebook API pretty quickly.
Art Lead: We need someone with a unique artistic style, able to draw both characters, items and action scenes... while also having an eye for user interfaces.
The ideal candidates are familiar with trading card games and/or MMORPGs, and are available to commit to a hardcore three months of work starting March 1. We will be pushing hard to develop and launch a game in a short period of time -- so those with a 9-to-5 mentality should look elsewhere. However, the potential rewards are great.
Our plan is to do something small, fast and awesome. If it catches on we'll know quickly and can then work on expanding both the Facebook version and a non-Facebook version of the game.
Full disclosure: The position pays $24k/year to start, has zero benefits, and is not certain past 90 days. Well, there is one benefit: equity in the newly formed company. Our office will be in Cambridge MA, and you must be local to the Boston area for this position -- at least during the 90 day window.
