There are rumors that the Red Line is experiencing "significant delays" owing to some horkage at Porter Square. Does anyone have more info on this? Forewarned being half-an-octopus and all.
Hadn't heard anything, but there was weirdness on Saturday...for a while they were running shuttlebuses between Park and Alewife...wonder if it's related?
saturday night the bartender at the elephant walk told me there'd been a fire at the harvard square T, and that's why everything was delayed. dunno what truth there is to it...
Thanks for the info. I'll be taking the redline home very soon, but now I think I will bail out at Harvard. There was definitely a significant delay on Sat. due to a fire at Harvard Station (thanks for the info Leighjen). Regarding New Year's Eve... I am trying to encourage some of my friends to get together at a local pub (cover free) for the festivities. If anyone is still looking for something to do let me know and I'll give you the details.
I heard a rumor from a couple of places that the rail actually broke on the outbound track somewhere between Davis and Porter, and they were running a single train both directions on the inbound track between Harvard and Alewife, causing Harvard to be a minor disaster.
That having been said, it's better now, trains are running in both directions, and it seems to be pretty normal.
