This article talks about Denver and NYC and Boston, but yes, the FBI has been in Somerville recently. All in the name of patriotism & national security...

I've got a new couch arriving soon and I'd really like to get rid of the futon that's in my living room. It's a thick full-sized futon with an armless pine wood frame. It's got a black cover which has a small rip in it. It works as a bed or couch.

There's a picture behind the cut. It's available for free to the first person who volunteers to come to East Somerville and pick it up.

Carolina Johnson, a 21-year-old Harvard graduate is running for State Represtentative in Cambridge (25th Middlesex District). She is running as a Green-Rainbow Party Candidate against Alice Wolf who has been running unopposed since 1998 to provide "an alternative for Cambridge." Carolina's issues include Women's Safety (both in the home as well as on the streets), Tax Fairness, Democratic Access and Reform, Alternative Transportation, and Housing. (Her Platforms will be posted on her website within the next week.)

Her campaign is in need of volunteers. we are going to start canvassing Cambridge next weekend and will be canvassing/tabling over the next few months. If you are interested in volunteering with her campaign, contact her campaign manager, Steve Milder at steve@carolinajohnson.org. A Volunteer Coordinator position is currently available and internship credit can be arranged if you are interested. You do not need to be a resident of Cambridge or a MA voter to volunteer.

Or, if you want to make a financial contribution, details are here.

i just wanted to inform you, the denizens of davis sq.
that mr. crepe will be closing at the end of sept.

the purpose of this post is two fold...

1) so those of you that enjoy this fine eating establishment
know that you have a limited time to continue to indulge in crepey goodness

2) to ask if any of you know of available retail space
anywhere in the area of camberville

as of right now there is no new location for mr.crepe
the owners are scouting for spaces but have yet
to come up w/ anything that is viable

just wanted to spread the word on this, since as an employee there
i'm aware that mr.crepe has a loyal, and generally friendly, following
