Volunteering on election day.

Can anyone tell me about opportunities to volunteer on election day? Nonpartisan preferred; in the Somerville/Cambridge area is a bonus. Any idea if there will be a problem volunteering if I'm not registered to vote in MA? [x-posted, sorry!]

Meet State Rep. Patricia Jehlen this coming Wednesday!

My household will be hosting an informal coffee-like thingy for our spiffy state representative, Patricia Jehlen, on Wednesday, Oct. 20, starting at 7 p.m. This is less of a fundraiser than it is an informal setting to meet Rep. Jehlen and engage in dialogue with her, but I'm sure she won't turn down donations if you are moved to give. :)

This event will likely overlap a bit with a social gathering that we host here sometimes, just to give fair warning. After 7:30 or 8:00, more people who show up will be geeky and from different areas. We mostly hang around and talk, game, geek, and order Chinese food. If that's your scene, feel free to stick around awhile.

The address is 161 Willow Ave, #2. There are 2 cats in residence; medicate accordingly. This is a non-smoking household.
