Two bedrooms open in a three-bedroom apartment on Highland Avenue near Cedar Street and the bike path. 10-minute walk to Davis Square; 15-minute walk to Porter; 25-minute walk to Harvard. The 88 and 90 buses stop right across the street. Two off-street parking spots in a lot next to the house are included in your rent.

Third-floor, large eat-in kitchen with a separate pantry, small living room, good size modern bathroom, coin-op laundry in the basement, great covered porch.

There are lots of storage closets in the apartment itself and room to store things in the building’s basement. One storage closet is so big that it could be used as an office or studio space; it even has a window!

Bedroom 1 is smaller and on the shady side of the building; rent is $520.
Bedroom 2 is bigger and has more windows for lots of light; that one is $550.
Bedroom 3, which is mine for now, is front facing and is also $550.

Alternately, bedroom 1 and 3 have a door between them that is currently boarded up. If you’d like to rent both rooms and open the door, the rent would be $1050.

Electric, Comcast cable/internet, oil heating in the winter and apartment necessities like tp and cleaning products will be split three ways, evenly. I have no need for a landline telephone so if you need one, you’ll have to pay for it.

We will be signing a one-year lease, July 1, 2005-June 30, 2006. Security deposit equal to one month’s rent required when you decide to move in and your first month’s rent due July 1st. Actual move-in is flexible since there’s so much room to put things.

Me: 26 year-old female, 9-5 weekday job and hardly home on the weekends. I sometimes have overnight guests and a small party every few months. On weeknights I chill in front of the television or stay to myself in my room. I’m something of a geek, so I might host the occasional role-playing game or anime movie night. I also go clubbing at least once a week so if you’re cool with me traipsing through the house covered in glitter, that’s a definite bonus. I’m very easy-going and get along with all kinds of people, but will expect bills to be paid on time and respectful behavior from my roommates.

I have one very fluffy cat and a rather large Chihuahua who keeps to himself in my room. Allergy prone people should probably not try living here as the cat sheds a fair amount! We can keep the animals out of the bedrooms, but the common areas will be left open for them to roam.

You: Smoker or non-smoker, girl or boy, gay or straight, whatever! The only things that I ask are respect for the common areas of the house, cleaning up after yourself and respect for your roommates. No loud music or loud television after 11pm on weeknights. Weekends you can do whatever you want, long as our party plans don’t conflict! Your pets will be considered.

Please comment if you're interested and we'll go from there for a showing!

Come down (actually up) to 7 Bay State Avenue in Ball Square this Sunday June 5 for a yard sale of great stuff that we just don’t have room for anymore! 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Stop by on your way to SoundBites for breakfast – we’re only 2 minutes from there and I’ll even hold your purchases for you until after you eat. Some item available:

* About 100 books -- primarily fiction; really good reads, some good non-fic also (no obsolete textbooks or manuals!)

* Women’s clothing and shoes/boots -- ranging from size 6 to 12, shoes and boots mostly size 8. Several costumes as well.

* Antique silver tea set -- very lovely, must see

* Early-American style storage table

* CDs and some vinyl records from the 80s (Smiths, Psychedelic Furs, Negativland, etc)

* Much bric-a-brac from the home of a theatre weirdo and a gamer geek.
