Have other Davis-area folks been noticing a strong bleach / swimming-pool chlorine sort of smell to their tap water this past week?

(I have, strong enough that I wasn't comfortable drinking it, and I called the MWRA about it last night, but their "24-hour" taste & odor line is just a voicemail box. I plan to try to get a human on the phone tomorrow, and it would be helpful to know how far the problem extends.)

I know this is not directly Davis Sq. related, but it's nearby. Ebisuya Japanese market is having their grand opening today from 6pm to 8pm http://ebisuyamarket.com/. This is in Medford Sq., right off the last stop of the 96 bus. My understanding is that it is owned by former employees from Kotobukiya in Porter Sq, which closed last year (mentioned in this post: http://community.livejournal.com/davis_square/1928524.html).

I have no idea what they carry, though the website lists sushi and fresh seafood. So I'm excited.

Blue Moose and the Unbuttoned Zippers (BMUZ) is not your average folk band. Founded in 2006 by four Berklee College of Music students, BMUZ decided to do something really different. They combined Scandinavian music and a nyckelharpa with American Old Time music, four and five string fiddles and a jazz and bluegrass guitarist. The result? A contemporary string band filled with epic triple fiddles, catchy melodies and driving rhythms full of raw energy and mashy quirk.

I was driving behind a WM trash truck today on Boston Ave. (it is technically Medford, but I figure that's close enough) and saw the workers tossing the trash, cardboard, paper and plastics into the compactor all at once. I'm pretty sure Somerville's  trash and recycling get picked up separately (at least mine do...) so I was just curious to see if any Medford residents knew about this.

i've been told that this )is a chinese knock-off of a very trendy - or at least very spendy - "waterfall" faucet.  i prefer a more traditional faucet, so i took it out.  it's new and surprisingly solid for something that's a cheap knock-off of something else.

want it ?
