The situation is getting urgent, so I'm trying to exhaust all resources I can think of. I need a place to live. If you or anyone you know has a room available for 600 or less near Harvard, Porter, Davis, or even Alewife, please get in touch with me. I am a 23 year old female who works 9-5 and does not have pets. The reason I'm posting here is basically Craigslist FAIL, and I signed up for Roomster, but that site kind of looks like crap. I know this is a shot in the dark because this isn't gonna reach as many people as those other sites probably, but I gotta try. If I don't get out soon, I don't know what I'm gonna do because I've been on my mom's futon in her living room with no private space since the middle of July, my commute to work is a bitch, and if her landlord figures out that I've been staying here then we are both homeless. Help me out.

So, after three years living here for college and determining that I really do want to spend the rest of my life in this area, I've finally gotten my hands on a bike. Woo!

Trawling the bicycle tag in this community has given me some fantastic advice and things to keep in mind about the actual riding, but I have a simpler problem to handle first --namely, that I have a bicycle, and nothing else.

So, where's an affordable place to get a helmet, lock, and lights? I'm a broke college kid, so I'm not looking to spend too much money (though I've already been told by virtually everyone to spend the cash on a u-lock rather than cable), and I live out between Porter and Harvard, so shops on the Cambridge side of Davis are much more convenient to me.

Thanks in advance for the recommendations!

Hi,

I have two BuyWithMe vouchers to Sol Azteca that expire on 9/26 (this Sunday). They are each $20 for $40 worth of food and drinks. Let me know if you want to buy them off of me, and I can meet in Davis Square to exchange. Here are the details:

http://www.buywithme.com/boston/deals/493-sol-azteca
• Limit one per person per visit. (For example, tables of 2 can use 2 vouchers).
• Gratuity is not included; please tip on the full value for good service.
• Not valid for take-out.
• Valid for the Boston location only.
• Full value of voucher must be used at once.
• Cannot be combined with other offers.

I just put out a free bookshelf on the curb outside 7 charnwood road. It's about 5' tall, 2ft wide, 4 shelves, in a honey-ish wood veneer. Was a little wobbly when put together, but its nothing some wood glue can't fix.

COME GET IT before the trash guys do.

...and volunteers are invited to join the pre-event rally Tuesday night (there is beer and wine and a bit of pre-fluff excitement)! Where else but in Somerville could you celebrate the invention of the all-important Marshmallow Fluff?

I was just meeting with the head of Union Square Main Streets about this, and there are some great volunteer jobs - handing out marshmallows and program a la cigarette girls, running fluff-themed games like fluff bowling and fluff fear factor, helping with fluff memorabilia sales...all in all, a great time and we're just looking for help in two-hour shifts.

For more info on the Festival, the Rally, and the volunteer needs, please see
http://unionsquaremain.org/committees/SpecialEvents/flufffest10.html

To sign up, please e-mail fluff@unionsquaremain.org

Also consider joining the brand new Union Square Main meetup group: http://www.meetup.com/Union-Square-Somerville-Fun/

Thanks,
Fluff captain Karin
