Hey again, peeps!
I wasn't able to find a better apartment than where I am now, so I guess I'm staying and need another roomie now for Jan 1st.

I'm going home early for the holidays so I can come back and work like crazy for the rest of the month, so the other guy made the ad. I admit it's not quite how I would've styled it, so let me know if you've got questions! He's going to show the place until I come back next week and then between the two of our odd schedules we can show almost any time later this month. Feel free to respond either way, or both :)

Quick deets:

2 Cats in residence
13 mins walk to Davis, it's on the Cambridge side of Mass Ave

Just came back from presentation by KSS and their new Maxpak partners (Gate Residential) on proposed changes to the Maxpak development that will be put before the zoning board on Thursday evening. They were presenting on the remaining 184 units to be developed. (15 townhouses have already begun construction in partnership with another firm, those will stay individually owned.) They want to construct the remaining now from 2011-2013, and those will be rentals.

According to their Facebook page, Actors' Shakespeare Project will present their Winter Festival of three plays (Cymbeline, Hotel Nepenthe, Living in Exile) at "The Storefront on Elm Street (255 Elm Street)" next February and March.

This appears to be the empty storefront formerly occupied by Poor Little Rich Girl, and most recently by Halloween Scream. I don't know why they are using this instead of the former Jimmy Tingle Theatre down below, or why they announced this only on Facebook and not on their real web site.

According to a flyer I got:

"There will be a neighborhood meeting regarding the proposed Subway sandwich shop at 860 Broadway, Somerville MA, sponsored by Ward 6 Alderman Rebekah Gewirtz. The owner shall be present to speak with neighbors and answer any questions.

WHEN: Wednesday, December 15, 2010
TIME: 5:00 P.M.
PLACE: 860 Broadway, Somerville, MA

For more information about the meeting please call Ward 6 Alderman Rebekah Gewirtz, (617) 718-0792, rebekah@rcn.com."

There's also this from Rebekah Gewirtz's newsletter:

"I testified against the shop coming at the Planning Board meeting on December 2nd because I am concerned that the block is going to become monopolized by chain stores. Locally owned, independent businesses add character, charm, and importantly, more local jobs than chains, which is why I have been such a strong proponent of them - and of organizations that support them like Somerville Local First. I haven't heard from many people about this planned Subway and I'm curious to get your feedback."

(This is the former location of the Spün frozen yogurt shop, near Powderhouse Circle.)
