First Root farm CSA share size?

Hi All,
I just signed up for a share of the First Root Farm CSA that has a drop-off in Davis (thanks to the poster who mentioned it a few weeks ago). I was wondering if anyone who had gotten their share last year could comment on the size? For the last few years, I've done Red Fire Farm, and definitely needed to split a single share with another couple. I'm in a 2 person, non-vegetarian household. The First Root share sounds a little smaller than Red Fire, but can anyone speak to their experience with it?

For anyone interested, when I asked on Sunday, First Root said they did still have shares available.

Happy thinking of summer and growing things -- though it seems a really long way off!

Oil slicks on bike path

Hey!

The entirety of the bike path appears to be covered in oil. Like, all the way from cedar to davis square. And it was on the intersecting streets too.

Anyone have any idea what did that? I just... can't understand how that much oil got on a place cars don't go.

Comcast current speeds?

 My household's connection speeds with Comcast seem to have gone downhill steeply recently, to the point where I've been comparison shopping RCN and Clear. Comcast says that they're doing service in the Somerville/Davis Square area and have been for the past week or so, with an indefinite completion date. Have other Comcast users in the area had their quality degrade recently as well?

I found a February 2011 LinkPass on a CharlieTicket, face down in the snow in front of 4 Day Street in Cambridge. I'm going to guess that you dropped it on the way from or to the #77 bus.

If you can identify the last four digits of the credit card that you used to purchase this, it's yours. You can post a comment here, or send me e-mail via the address on my LJ profile page.

(I can't guarantee that it still works, given that it is wet and has a slight crease in it.) It works, but I have to insert it more than once before the gate will accept it. If you don't claim this by Friday morning, February 11, I'm going to keep it and have the T move it to my CharlieCard.

Hey all,

I've got stuff to give away if anyone wants it (and perhaps appliances to sell? not sure about this one yet....I'll let you know....).

A little background; Mom passed away and I got the house, and everything in it. Including the $$$$ of renovations that need to get done (hence the questions about bathroom, kitchens, etc I've asked in the past). As exciting as this is, I need to have an EMPTY house to do it. Anything I"m not keeping is going into the trash. By OMG!MONDAY!

Right now, I've got scraps of fabric I'm throwing out. Mom sewed, a lot, and kept EVERY REMNANT she had. I'm putting these all in plastic bags. If anyone has any desire to have these, they're yours.

I've also got a few bowls, dishes, and whatnot. Nothing matches, but it's FREE.

I bought a Groupon last year that I'm not going to have a chance to use. It's good for a one-night condo rental at Village Condominium, two lift-tickets at Waterville Valley, and some other perks. Full details here. It's a 2.5-hour drive from Boston. The only catch is that if you can't make it up for a weeknight overnight, there is a 2-night minimum for weekend stays (i.e., you'd have to pay full price for the second night). It's good until March 31st.
