Hi all,

Starting 9/1 there will be two rooms available in cozy, 3 BR home in Davis. My current roommates are moving out and I'm looking to create a more community-oriented living situation. Rent is $650/month for upstairs room; $800/month for larger, downstairs room.

I'm looking for people who want to create a positive, peaceful, environmentally-sensitive, shared living situation with me. To me, this means sharing staple foods and a CSA share, cooking once a week for the house, all contributing to house upkeep and cleaning, meeting about once a month to check in about everyting, etc. I would love to hear your thoughts on what it means to you, too, so we can work out the best situation for all of us.
I don't want drama; I also don't want strangers that just occupy the same building. I've lived with enough roommates to know that we don't have to be best friends, but we do have to be committed to open communication and a shared vision of the house, and that if we do, it could be a really great experience and happy, welcoming home.

Please see my more detailed Craigslist posting here: http://boston.craigslist.org/gbs/roo/2527241549.html

Thanks for reading!

I've been disgusted and frustrated one time too many and have finally
decided that I want to break my "industrial food" consumption habits.
I am looking for advice and ideas from others who are committed to
local food sourcing.

This will be a big challenge for me as I am a huge creature of habit
and not the least bit handy in the kitchen. So I am really interested
in how others started down this path and how they make it work.

I'm selling a front-loading washing machine & dryer that are in great shape and perfect working order. They are covered by a 4-year warranty with 2 years remaining on it.

I'd love to find a good home for these guys -- front loaders make your clothes cleaner, so you'll love them. Unfortunately, I can't deliver them, since they won't fit in my car. But I'm happy to help you carry them to your truck or zipcar.

You can see more about them on my craigslist post:  http://boston.craigslist.org/gbs/app/2526394249.html

Thanks!

 Hi,

I learned about the Cape Ann Fresh Catch http://www.capeannfreshcatch.org/ from DSLJ and we signed up for the Somerville 4-week summer session.  So far, the fish has been delish!  We have a scheduled share delivery this Saturday between 11 - 1 right outside Union Square that we won't be able to get since we are out of town.  If anyone is interested in picking up our share, please let me know!  It is 2 pounds of fillet - normally $24 but so it doesn't go to waste, say $15?  The first delivery was hake and the 2nd was Grey Sole.  You can read more about what type of fish it might be.  It would also give anyone considering signing up an opportunity to try it out.  If you are interested, please let me know!

Thanks!

The big NEFFA Thursday contra dance, which usually meets in Concord, will be at the West Cambridge Youth/Community Center (680 Huron Ave) for the next 3 weeks (August 4, 11, and 18). See http://thursdaycontras.com .

I figured that this would be interesting to the Davis community, since there are probably people here who are interested in contra dancing but can't get to Concord so easily.
