Come experience the far reaches of science fiction tonight at Urban Promise Church in Davis Square (204 Elm St., across from the Dominos)as the Post-Meridian Radio Players present their Scifi Spectacular!
For the first part of the show we present comedic Red Shift: Interplanetary Do-Gooder in "Havoc Over Holowood"! Holowood parodies and pays homage to the pulp sci-fi serials of the 1930s and 40s (with a bit of the 50s thrown in for good measure!), follows Red, Lumpy, Doc Alberts and Penny Parker, Girl Reporter as they try to save beloved space celebrity Jetpack Jones from his worst nightmare: angry fans with atomic weaponry!
After that is our adaptation of the 1951 classic The Day The Earth Stood Still! Using the adaptation from Lux Radio Theatre, the tale of the alien visitor and his all-powerful robot Gort to deliver one of the most important messages in humanity's history!
There are three performances: Tonight at 8pm and two on Saturday: 2pm and 8pm.
Tickets are $15, $12 for students/seniors
For more information please visit sss12.pmrp.org.
Also, not only will we have our famous Byfar Coffee Soda and Syrup at the concession stand, but also six flavors of Moon Pies!!
The Post-Meridian Radio Players are Boston's premiere radio drama troup entertaining Somerville and surrounding areas since 2005. Previous projects include Mask of Inanna and the Big Broadcast Halloween shows.
