IMG_4578Hi Everyone, We're kicking off the fall round of City of Somerville ResiStat meetings in West Somerville on Oct. 18. Please join us.

Ward 7: Teele Square, West Somerville

Thursday, Oct. 18, 7-8:30 p.m.
Meet-and-Greet with refreshments from 6:30 to 7 p.m.
Tufts Admin. Building, community room, 167 Holland St.

Join Mayor Curtatone, Alderman Trane and other city staff and officials to hear about the latest city and neighborhood initiatives and news, and to share your feedback, concerns and ideas. You might even meet a few neighbors too. Come early for the Meet-and-Greet with refreshments from 6:30 to 7 p.m.

Why should you come if you live in the area? Because this is your home and what the City does or doesn't do can impact your life every day -- from crime prevention and pothole repair to innovative service delivery to community events that make it feel good to live here. This is just an easy way to get informed -- and involved.

WHAT WE'LL DISCUSS:

    • How the City is working to reduce costs & increase efficiency/service
    • Rebuilding after the Teele Square fire
    • Next steps for the Powder House School
    • North St. Park renovation
    • Green Line Extension latest news
    • Proposal to overhaul residential zoning
    • Neighborhood crime and safety report
    • Outcome from Davis Square Streetscape discussions
    • Veterans Housing coming to Broadway
    • Rodent Control
    • And throughout, Q&A with the Mayor and Alderman Trane

"Joe's Jazz and Blues Fest", an all-day free outdoor concert, is coming back to Powderhouse Park on Saturday, October 27, from noon to 6 pm.

For more information and a complete schedule, visit http://somervilleartscouncil.org/jazzbluesfest .

(For the last three years, this event was held in June. Moving it to the last weekend of October is tempting the weather gods. I hope things work out OK.)
