I was wondering if anyone could recommend a good, family oriented campground? we want to go camping next weekend, just one night, as it will be the first time we take the little ones camping and not sure how they'll react to it. We have no preference for state (MA, NH, VT, maybe ME, although that might be a little far for just one night). (Edit to add: I'm thinking somewhere with a pool or a lake, fairly easy hiking trails, and generally laid back. Not somewhere that will be full of hardcore campers/hikers that might be annoyed by our car camping ways, and also somewhere that isn't full of people boozing it up all day/night)

any suggestions appreciated. and if this is too far off topic for DSLJ, let me know and I'll take it down.

Thanks!

Ages ago, I observed that my roommates live with me for a year, then invariably wind up moving in with their significant others, often marrying them when they do so. My streak stands - my roommate's girlfriend is moving to Dorchester, and not wanting a long distance relationship, he's going with her.

So I have one room in my 3-bedroom, 2-floor apartment available starting August 1. We are a block away from the Clarendon Busway and the new Stop and Shop. The room is $675 a month, plus gas (heating and stove; almost non-existent in summer, about $40 a person per month in the winter). The landlord is in the process of installing solar panels on the building this week, so I can give you an idea what electricity has been in the past (about $25 a month per person), but things will be shifting on that front soon). The internet is $17 a month right now. The apartment and porch is strictly non-smoking of any sort, and there are two cats.

The room is large, two off-street facing windows, with a stupidly large closet. Landlord hates the colour the room is and would be happy if you repainted it. He will provide white paint; other colours are up to you.

We have a slightly reduced rent for an apartment this size in this area because the landlord is in NH, and we do the 'landlord things'; take out the trash, shovel the sidewalk, very light yardwork, etc. You should expect to help with this.

The lease runs Sept to Sept; you will be subletting for August.

I am female, in my early 40s, web developer, writer and very occasional bartender. The other roommate is male, in his 20s, a student doing retail work and on disability. We are looking for someone mature, who will not just stay in your room - we'd like someone we can hang out with.

Pictures will be available Monday (roommate is moving out this weekend, it's a bit of a mess). I am thespian@sleepingcat.com or message me here.

Looking for a friendly roommate to share a comfortable, beautiful home in Medford Hillside, just outside Somerville - $825.
Sadly, I couldn't find anything in Somerville. I really had wanted to stay. I just signed the lease and am now looking for a roommate.

Me: Female, early 40's, Artist/designer. Very clean and organized - but casual about it. Very responsible. Mostly vegetarian. Friendly and respectful. Left leaning and environmentally friendly. Open to sharing the occasional meal or coffee, but enjoy my alone time too.

You: Female or gay male, 30+, non-smoker, no pets (allergies). Easy-going and responsible. Clean, communicative, and considerate. Seeking a similar situation...

Apartment: Owner occupied. Recently renovated and nicely painted. Decent sized bedrooms with ceiling fans, living room, office, sunroom, side porch. Hardwood floors. Tile bathroom and kitchen. Kitchen has microwave, dishwasher, gas stove, and hook-up for a stackable washer dryer.

Minutes drive/bike to 93, Mystic Parkway, Arlington, Cambridge, Somerville, Davis and Porter Square. The 96, 80, and 94 buses are 5-6 minutes walk away. The 95 is a 12 min walk. The 101 is a 14 min walk. Easy street parking - no permit required.

I have most household furniture and supplies (except the w/d) but have pared down to the essentials and those I love. Definitely room for more (kitchen table/island, couch, chair) - but prefer a zen home to an overcrowded or cluttered one.

Let's meet up for coffee and see if we might be a good fit. If we are, I can ask the landlord for a showing.
Thanks!
