AOL is shutting down many Patch.com sites, but Somerville Patch editor Chris Orchard announced on Facebook that "Somerville Patch will continue to post news stories, and it wasn't affected by the most recent cutbacks."

Porter Square Books sold to new local owners

They moved into their first Cambridge home in 1990, continuing their lifetime habits of prowling local independent bookstores. When Porter Square Books opened in 2004, it quickly became one of their favorites-for its location, its ambience, its selection and most important its staff. But David and Dina are about to become much more than just shoppers. On August 18, they completed their purchase of Porter Square Books.

Chipotle handing out free $10 tokens at tomorrow's Davis Square Farmers' Market

According to this and this, Chipotle will hand out free tokens worth $10 for use at tomorrow's Davis Square Farmers' Market.

ETA for clarification: They are handing out the tokens at the market, not at the nearby Chipotle restaurant.

Supplies are limited, so you'll need to get there early. The market officially opens at noon, and I hope Chipotle will respect that opening time.

ETA ~3 pm: Sorry, all gone! They had 250 to give out, and exhausted their supply around 1:30.

Stuff and hopefully not moving it

I have way too much stuff!

I tried craigslist and sold some stuff, but then I got frustrated with people not showing up and the like.

So, here's the big stuff that needs to be rehomed, and for which I wouldn't mind getting a bit of cash:

1) Queen size bed frame from Ikea (Sultan Laxeby and a now discontinued frame with legs but no headboard) -$75
2) Wood 5-drawer dresser 31x18x42-$50


Any takers before I repost them?
