Perhaps an odd question, but I have a whole bunch of cotton T-shirts, sheets, etc. that I want to dispose of but I hate to just throw them in the trash. Does anyone know of places that recycle items like this? The days of the rag man are long gone.

If you have tried to join this community and received a rejection from one of the moderators, it probably happened because your LJ account is brand new, with no profile information, no friends, no posts, and no membership in any other groups. From our point of view, we unfortunately can't distinguish between your account and a comment-spam bot.

If we rejected you, please send an LJ private message to the moderators (who are listed on [livejournal.com profile] davis_square profile page), or send e-mail to davis-square (at) aaaaa.org, introducing yourself and including your LJ username. We do not need to know your Real Name; we just need to know that you're real.

I have this computer desk that I don't use anymore, and I'm about to move so I need to get rid of it. I thought I had a buyer but as is often the case with craigslist, that person has disappeared.

I'm asking $75 obo and I'm located on the Medford side of Tufts. The desk is in good condition, just some regular wear and tear from 13 years. Message me if you're interested and I can send you some photos.

Adding to yesterday's front-page story, today we have an editorial titled "Joe Curtatone: Hizonner the hipster".

It's short, so I'm going to quote it in full behind this lj-cut:

Considering that Mayor Joe is hovering around the edge of the 2014 race for Massachusetts Governor, consider this an open thread for talking about not just the Globe editorial but also the mayor and his record.
