The annual Project MUM dance party (Proximally Meet Under McGrath) will be tomorrow night, Saturday September 14, starting at 8 pm.

Because of road construction, tomorrow's party will not actually be at the usual location under McGrath Highway. Instead, it will be a couple blocks away on Chestnut Street near Brickbottom. From Davis Square, take bus #87 or #88 to "Glass Stop" (just after Target) and walk across McGrath, up Poplar Street to Chestnut. (Or just bike there -- lots of other folks will be doing that.)

According to an email from the Davis Action Group, Beer Works proposes to move into the long-vacant Social Security space at 240 Elm Street. This is a regional chain with other locations near Fenway Park and North Station, as well as Salem, Lowell, Hingham, and Framingham.

A public meeting will be held on-site at 6 pm on Monday, September 23. A Licensing Commission hearing will follow on October 21 at 6 pm at the TAB building, 167 Holland Street.

The on-site meeting was originally scheduled for July 31, but was postponed.

I'm not much of a beer snob, so I'm asking those of you who are: what do you think of Beer Works beer? Does it compare well to Cambridge Brewing Company, Slumbrew, Pretty Things, and other local favorites?

I don't know if you all have seen this year's What the Fluff logo yet. It is killer, so awesome. It's posted at https://www.facebook.com/flufffestival if you want to see.

If you are looking for gift ideas, they have taken parent feedback and the baby/kid shirts are now colored instead of white!
Plus, if you want the super-limited edition King Kong Fluff pin for free, the only way to do so is by being a volunteer. Contact me at volunteer at unionsquaremain dot org.

We are looking especially for laters shifts at the moment (4-6 PM, 6-8 PM)

Have a fluffy weekend!
