"Bagels With the Bards Anthologies" (numbers 1-8) are now permanently archived in the Library’s Local History Room, and the Bagel Bards Celebratory Reading commemorates the milestone. Jan. 15 at 7 p.m. Free. Somerville Public Library, 79 Highland Ave., Somerville. 617-623-5000. www.somervillepubliclibrary.org

This literary organization is made up of “poets, novelists, playwrights, poseurs, stumble-bums, and whoever joins us on Saturday mornings at 9 a.m. at the Au Bon Pain in Somerville.”

Flatbread Fundraiser tonight!

Don't cook dinner tonight, Tuesday January 14th.  Go to Flatbread in Davis Square and support Somerville Cub Scout Pack 3.  As I am sure you all know, Flatbread will make a donation for each pizza sold.  There will be a bake sale and raffle too!

Pack 3 welcomes and embraces people of diverse racial backgrounds, ethnicity, culture, sexual orientation, economic status, family structure, and physical or mental ability. We teach Citizenship, Compassion, Cooperation, Courage, Respect, Responsibility, Positive Attitude and have lots of fun!

Isis Parenting closes

This is somewhat outside the square, but i received an email from a friend announcing that Isis Parenting (closest location is in Arlington Center) closed effective 9pm tonight... a quote from the email I received:

"Today at 4:00 PM, during a company-wide conference call, I learned that Isis Parenting has closed its doors. My understanding is ALL classes are terminated as of 9:00 PM this evening. The stores will liquidate all the merchandise over the next few days and all employees have been let go. We were told that the clients would receive a formal email this evening explaining this abrupt closing."

Thought people would want to know, and not sure how well they will disseminate this information.
