The Somerville and Medford bicycle committees are both leading bike tours this Saturday, September 20. Somerville's is in the afternoon, Medford's in the morning, so you can do both if you want.

This year's Tour de Somerville: Rivers & Rails Ride is a month earlier than in past years, and has a different starting location. Meet Saturday at 2 pm at the new Assembly Row Amphitheatre by the Mystic River, 333 Great River Road near JP Licks. This will be a 12-mile bike tour of the Mystic River and the Green Line Extension route. As usual, Redbones will provide refreshments at a rest stop, and Somerville police will help escort the ride.

Medford's fall bicycle tour meets Saturday at 9:45 am at Whole Foods on Route 16 in Medford (2151 Mystic Valley Parkway). This year's theme is “Narratives of The First Peoples of Medford." Whole Foods will provide lunch at the end of the ride. The ride fee is $5 (free for Medford Historical Society members and people under 18).
