To vote in the September 17 preliminary election for Ward 6 Alderman in Somerville, you must be registered to vote by this Friday, August 28. Only Ward 6 will be having an election in September.

Ward 6 contains Davis Square and much of the immediately surrounding area, stretching up to Tufts University and towards Porter and Ball squares. Find out whether you live in Ward 6 by entering your address into this form or looking at this map.

You can register to vote, or change your registration address if you've recently moved, in a few different ways:

  • in person at City Hall
  • Fill out this form online, print it, sign it, and mail it, postmarked by this Friday
  • Pick up a paper voter registration form at a library, fill it in, sign it, and mail it, postmarked by this Friday
  • NEW: If you have a Massachusetts drivers' license or state ID, you can register to vote online. Deadline is still this Friday.

Following up on Ron's post below, I'll be tabling in Davis Square today and tomorrow to register voters.  You can find me ~2-6 PM today and tomorrow, and a volunteer will be manning the table in the evening -- look for us sitting with a big chalkboard sign (see photo).  Stop by to fill out a registration form (which I'll take to City Hall for you), or just to say hi and chat about Somerville.

I can register anyone in Somerville, but reminder for Ward 6 voters that Friday is the last day to register for the Alderman preliminary on Sept 17.
