This winter sport, popular in Canada and on Midwestern campuses, is pretty much skateless ice hockey with a rubber ball instead of a puck. Teams of six, including a goalie each, use “brooms” — lacrosse sticks with a small paddle at the end — to pass and shoot the ball into the opposing team’s net. The biggest challenge is staying upright.
Sound like fun? Come out and play. We play right down the street at Veteran’s Memorial Rink. First time is free. Bring a helmet, we can supply the broom.
