press release received from MassDOT:

CANCELLED: MBTA Red Line Weekend Diversion & Longfellow Bridge Closure
This Weekend, January 29 – February 1

MassDOT has cancelled this weekend's MBTA Red Line diversion and Longfellow Bridge closure. The remaining work will be completed during a series of night shifts instead of during a weekend diversion. The Longfellow Bridge will remain open to one lane of Boston-bound vehicles at all times this weekend, and Red Line trains will provide service during typical hours. Bicycles and pedestrians will continue to use the current travel configuration to cross the bridge.

The Cambridge-bound detour remains in place using a signed route from Charles Circle following Charles Street to Leverett Circle, Monsignor O’Brien Highway/Charles River Dam Road, and Edwin H. Land Boulevard.

For more information on the project, visit the website at www.mass.gov/massdot/longfellowbridge. View construction progress photos on MassDOT’s Longfellow Bridge Flickr Album. For questions or to report issues related to construction, please call the project hotline at 617-519-9892 or email longfellowbridge@state.ma.us.

Just got word from Somerville's Solar Coach that the city has been accepted into the Solarize Mass program for 2016. Official press release: http://www.masscec.com/about-masscec/news/state-energy-officials-announce-five-new-communities-participate-solar-program (very dry and formatted so badly it's nigh unreadable)

From the email: "As the announcement has just been made, we don't have a lot of additional information at this time. But this selection means that we can now work with the city and the state to help residents of Somerville to decide if solar is a suitable option for them and their homes or businesses. We'll be developing and sharing educational materials, we'll have events to help people learn more and get questions answered, and we will help people to understand the processes associated with generating local, artisanal electrons."
