Come to Ford Hall Forum's FREE, PUBLIC discussion on Sanctuary Cities with Somerville Mayor Joseph Curtatone this Thursday!
Municipalities all over the country are discussing whether they should become “sanctuary cities” for illegal immigrants and refugees. Some have long considered themselves sanctuary cities, but world events — including an increase of refugees due to the Syrian War and a new American administration eager to censure illegal immigrants — have brought the policy to the forefront.
However, even those who are informed about current affairs have difficulty understanding the precise definition of sanctuary cities and whether establishing them is a sound policy to promote immigrant rights. Join Ford Hall Forum for a discussion with Somerville Mayor Joseph Curtatone and New England School of Law professor Dina Haynes on the role of sanctuary cities in immigration policy.
THIS THURSDAY, 3/9/2017
6:30 PM - 8PM
Suffolk University's Sargent Hall, 120 Tremont St., 5th floor
Free and open to the public
